Conclusions on the retention of section 377a in Singapore

In october 2007 there had been a campaign to repeal section 377a of the penal code, which was introduced in 1938 to criminalise ‘gross indecency’ between men.
After an extensive refinement of the penal code, the parliament decided to retain the section, albeit not actively enforcing it.
